Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology

Program Description:

The specialization in Counseling Psychology prepares professional counselors to fulfill a variety of counseling roles, including community mental health, social service agencies, free standing treatment centers, hospitals, prisons, vocational settings, and group multi-disciplinary settings. and vocational. Graduates will have treatment centers, and group multi-disciplinary practices. The Master's in Counseling degree program is designed to include an appropriate balance of theory and practice courses.

This program also fulfills the educational requirements necessary to qualify for the Licensed Psychological Associate licensure from the Kentucky State Board of Examiners of Psychologists. The educational requirements for licensure as a Psychological Practitioner include an additional 15 hours of coursework beyond the Psychological Associate, and an internship of 1800 hours.
